Street Humanities
AWAC in partnership with the College of New Caledonia and the City of Prince George developed the street humanities program in 2016. Street Humanities is a non-credit liberal educational arts program for individuals of all gender identities who have experienced poverty, homelessness, exclusion, unemployment, or barriers to education. This program offers modified courses at the College of New Caledonia to introduce or reintroduce individuals to an educational experience with a diverse array of subjects.
Street Humanities is run from January to April annually for a period of three evenings per week. Individuals can be referred to the program by community agencies or connecting with the outreach team directly at AWAC. To participate, individuals must commit to the duration of the entire program.
